v4.20 Upgrade For Intellex ®

This software is used to upgrade Intellex systems running v4.10, 4.15, or 4.17 software to v4.20. Carefully read the following important information before attempting to upgrade your Intellex system. For a detailed description of the new features in this upgrade, refer to the Release Notes.

To determine the current version of your software, click Utility, then click About Intellex. If the version of your software is 4.10.xx, 4.15.xx, or 4.17.xx then you can install this upgrade.

If you are not currently running any of the three Intellex versions listed above, you must first upgrade to v4.10 or 4.17 prior to upgrading to v4.20.

Licensing

This software is protected with a license key. The license key that enabled your current software v4.1x will also enable this update. Do not uninstall the previous version of software or delete any files before performing this installation.

Note: v4.20 software for Intellex is designed to be compatible with Network Client v4.20 or later.

v4.20 Upgrade for Intellex Ultra – v4.20 software is designed to install on Intellex Ultra with either a 1 GB or 2 GB flash drive. Dependent upon a user's upgrade path and whether any additional software has been installed on Intellex Ultra, such as anti-virus software or Microsoft Security updates, users may encounter issues when trying to install v4.20 on Intellex Ultra equipped with a 1 GB flash drive. A preinstall utility has been designed to maximize the drive space on a 1 GB flash drive. It is recommended that users with a 1 GB flash drive exercise this utility software prior to upgrading to v4.20. Reference Technical Bulletin #TB-00157-00-080625 for additional information. v4.2 Software Update Hot Fix for Intellex – A software hot fix has been created to address an issue discovered with playback of video from a CCTV keyboard with Intellex running v4.2 software. Click here for additional information about the v4.2 software hot fix and instructions on how to download this hot fix.

Download Instructions:

  1. On a PC equipped with a removable media, download and save the software below to your local hard drive.
  2. Copy the file to a CD or USB flash drive for installation onto Intellex.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Exit the Intellex application by clicking on Utility, Exit. Then type in the Exit PIN.
  2. Insert the media with the software update into the Intellex.
  3. Double click on the My Computer icon.
  4. Double click on the media device with the Intellex software update.
  5. Double click on the update file.
  6. Follow the instructions as the installation program installs the update.
  7. When the installation is complete, the installation program will automatically shut down or reboot Intellex.
  8. Restart Intellex.
  9. Download the most recent update for DVD/CD drives from the American Dynamics website.
  10. Double click on the DVD/CD update. Follow the instructions as the installation program installs the update.
  11. Restart Intellex.
